2020 YAM - Youth Art Month

2020 Flag and Postcard Contest

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Win Sargent Art Supplies!
 

Two artworks will be selected for print, plus three Honorable Mentions: One to represent RI at the national level as a flag.  This flag goes to the National Art Ed Conference. And another chosen to print as a postcard to be used as invitation to YAM art events. ALL GRADE LEVELS are welcome to participate! This year’s National theme is “Take a Journey Through Art”

 

★ The artists chosen to have their artwork made into a flag or postcard will each win $250 worth of Sargent Art supplies (retail value). Each of their teachers will receive $500 worth of Sargent Art supplies (retail value)!
★ This year we will be awarding Honorable Mention awards, one each to Elementary, Middle, High school level. Sargent Art is providing art supplies for the artists worth $100 (retail value), and classroom art supplies for their teacher worth $300 (retail value)
★ Sargent Art is also providing a Participation Gift to each school after receiving from the Principal (via Email) the following information (sent directly to Sargent Art):
1. School enrollment number;
2. Number of Art Teachers;
3. Number of entries submitted to Youth Art Month.

Download, print, and copy the 2020 official flag template from the RI Art Education Association website for your students to work on:

➻➻ Instruct students to:
1. Create their images using plenty of color.
2. Creatively illustrate the theme, while also creating artwork that represents Rhode Island or Art in general
3. Include the words “Youth Art Month” and “Rhode Island” in the design somewhere. If you’re not using the template found on-line, please be sure student’s name, grade, school, city and their art teacher’s name are on the back of all artwork submitted.
