Congratulations to all of the Artist/Educators who participated in the annual RIAEA Educators' Exhibit on your continued commitment to our own visual practice and maintaining the balance between being inspiring to and inspired by our students.

A special thank you to:

Judge: Angelo Marinosci

Exhibition Chairperson Rose Escobar, Incoming Exhibition Chairperson Jill Cyr, Volunteers: Barbara Wunderler, Kristin Street, Susan Kolenda, Adam Ferbert and Matt Nerney for their help in hanging the show.

Congratulations to our Award Recipients:

Best in Show: Kristin Street "Aerial Deconstruction"

Purely cosmic experience: speaks to us from the universal to the sub-particle level.  Drawn into a black hole and regenerated as something new.  The use of tonality and color is splendid.

2nd Place: Bobbie Berking-Dalzall "Icarus"

"Bedazzling example of well chosen and constructed artifacts echoing a time which was better dedicated to craftsmanship."

3rd Place: Diane B. Sheehan "Cast Trees"

"Drawn from the ancient world and unearthed by an archeologist with nuances from another time"

Honorable Mention: Stephen Saunders "Ghost Sky #1"

"A visual symphony, the closer you get it draws you in and you become a part of the process.  You begin in the audience and become part of the orchestra."

Honorable Mention: Leah Grear "Hero's Journey"

"A fine example of direct abstract painting: utilization of bold direct methods and a keen understanding of color and form, a balance of the subdued and sublime."
